The debut from Los Angeles’ Brutal Jooks, “Believer”. Raw, American underground rock with a nod to the garage and the delta. Dirty, bluesy, and gritty. Chock full of wiry slide guitars, in-the-red vocals, and walloping drums. The band is helmed by songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Greg Reeves, who lately has worked with artists like The Dead Kennedys, Hanni El Khatib, Her Space Holiday, The Killer Smiles, and others, as well as creating music for Fuel TV, A&E's "Billy the Exterminator", and much more.
Growing up in Virginia, Reeves cut his teeth on Zep, Stones, Mott the Hoople and the like, while the influence of bands like The Clash, X, and early rock and roll like Link Wray and Elvis loomed large. Shake it all up and you get Brutal Jooks.
